Going to the market in the afternoon to buy groceries, coming back to cook my own meal, finally able to briefly escape the sea of suffering that is the cafeteria 😭. This isn’t just about improving the food—it also brings a bit of breathing room and long-missed homey vibes to my foggy-headed days.

Random Thoughts by the Kitchen

• The communal kitchen (which is actually the bathroom XD) is really inconvenient—every time I need to wash something, I have to make a special trip.

• That dish of mysterious dark yellow seasoning in the picture is actually ginger powder, specifically used to remove fishy smells. Last time I made fish balls without removing the fishy smell, and I almost ate myself into depression.

• Just steaming some vegetables in the dorm made my roommate dizzy with the aroma, exclaiming: “This is a flavor the cafeteria doesn’t have!” I’m thinking, if I got bolder and tried stir-frying or making hot pot in the dorm, would I be assassinated? 🤣
