June: My 7 AM Morning Run Challenge
2025-07-24
It’s finals month recently, but I still want to stick to running and maintain a good routine, so this project was born!
The plan is simple: every morning at 7 AM, rain or shine, run for 30 minutes. To protect good sleep, I also do standing meditation around 9-10 PM, followed by washing up, showering, doing laundry, and journaling. Study time is arranged from 8 AM to 8 PM, of course with walks, meals, work, and naps in between.
The reward this time is clear: a healthy body after a month of finals!
Challenge Log
DAY
Exercise metrics: 30-minute run this morning, 1-hour standing meditation last night.
Studied until I felt dizzy, so I specifically designed a big break in the morning and afternoon for walking or doing a set of Baduanjin (Eight Pieces of Brocade). Feels like this way I can keep studying. Encountered a math problem that felt like “Cao Chong weighing the elephant”—had to chop the elephant into pieces to weigh it. Really gave me a headache.
DAY
Kept up the 30-minute run and 1-hour standing meditation.
DAY
Went to Hong Kong, gave myself a rest day.🤗
DAY
Double the exercise today: 1 hour 30 minutes of standing meditation, plus 1 hour of running.
Challenge Complete! But Time for Some Life Subtraction
After a month, I succeeded!
Looking back at this period, I feel like I kept deceiving myself with “I’ll rest next month,” and ended up PUA-ing myself into confusion. Going forward, I really need to do some life subtraction.
